The first thing that came to mind when I thought of inspiration was a feeling I have when I dance. I feel the energy in the room and I see someone moving in a certain way and I will imitate that movement. I feel I learn a new way of moving. It inspires energy in myself.
I also, think the opposite of inspiration is Will. Inspiration has a free flowing quality while Will is used to plan, control and direct my actions. For me this can be initiated by a feeling of responsibility, among other reasons.
I did have an experience hiking up a mountain. We had a long physically strenuous hike. I was thoroughly exhausted, but out of the exhaustion I felt I spoke with a feeling of inspiration. I was to tired to maintain my will.
A friend of mine, Harold, a person I spent many years traveling with, inspired me. He was always looking at different values that were important to him at the time. He would talk to people about these values, asking questions and delving deeper into them. I found this approach very interesting and have incorporated it. Doing a website on human values, etc.
Then I thought of Brainstorming. With Brainstorming there are flashes of insights and ideas popping up from random associations. It's like a rainstorm, darkness, lightning, flashes. It seems that continuous flashes of insight makes inspiration.
The spark plug makes flashes, - find more sources of flashes, and create a piece, an installation piece out of it. Get music of flashes of lightning explore this farther. get something that flashes for my workroom.
