These are somewhat organized notes from the 12/12/00 meeting at the Brain Exchange, brainstorming group. We posed the question;  How should we go about starting the Creative Study Circle? 

•  What kind of people should attend?
  • need a multidisciplinary group of people
  • anyone, there are no skills required.
• Where to get people for the Creative Study Circle?
  • promote at art schools - the artwork from the group  will be seen by people which may attract art students who would like their work shown.
  • go to WHIMSYUM salons 
  • at salons 
  • advertise  in paper
  • bring a guest - that is eccentric
  • each group member bring a guest 
• Length of the group?
  • long term or short term 
  • alternate out, not all leave at the same time
  • get 20 people - could create a sub group and it could be web based
• How to publicize the group?
  • send out press release
  • go to local festivals and set up a booth- a brainstorming shop
  • tag on at schools during career day.

  • do it virtually on the internet and do a show like real world.
• What's the Meeting format?
  • get guest speakers on topics
  • pose a question at the beginning of the group and keep the group focused
  • creators and documenters - people don't want to be interrupted, it interrupts the flow of ideas. have someone document the flow of ideas.
  • explore the the Seven universal values 
  • food and drink bring people
  • have out door events
  • have weekend retreats.

  • have a quick evaluation at the end of the meeting

• What are the Meeting Activities?

    • why is drawing a good way? different people learn differently. Some people are more visual, some are tactile, etc.
