Steps for Video Taping Open Studio Artist Talks
- ( ) Select video taping approach
- 1. Artist Group Talk: Artists bring in artwork and set it on a
table, stand or easel and
give a talk. The location can be a gallery, studio, home, etc. This can
be a nice community building event among the artists. Artists enjoy getting
together and sharing their stories.
- 2. Artist Gallery Talk: Artists stand in front of their artwork in the
gallery and give a talk.
- 3. Art Studio Talk: For studios where many artists are showing
together, we can go to each individual studio and have the artists talk and
give a tour of their studio.
- We did this with
the Marin Open Studios in the Industrial Center Building in Sausalito.
This can be visually very interesting, but is difficult to tape since the
light and noise level in each studio is different..
- 4. Etc. Each Open Studio is different, so we need to
work out an approach that works best for each situation.
